Hi, I’m David Ohrvall, founder of MBACASE. I wrote my first book, Crack the Case: How to Conquer Your Case Interviews, on a dare from my wife, Shiloah. A few weeks later, the consulting club at Chicago Booth called and asked me to speak at their case interview boot camp. That event in November of 2003 became the first of hundreds of Crack the Case Workshops that we’ve led over the last decade. Today, our workshops touch thousands of MBAs and undergrads each year at top business programs in seven countries.
Shiloah got a lot more than she bargained for when she made that dare. Our little book turned into a part-time business and then a full-time career. She oversees the finance and technology sides of MBACASE, and also lends a hand with product development and marketing. Before we launched our business and a family, she was a CPA with PwC in international tax. She’s my multi-talented partner in business and the rest of life. We live in the Chicago suburbs with our four kids, two fancy rats and roughly 89,000 wild bunnies who eat my entire garden every summer.
A few years after we started training and coaching, we had the good fortune of meeting Shari Rogge-Fidler, a former BCG consultant who was also coaching MBAs toward case interview success. She joined our team in 2007. Shari is a seasoned coach and business advisor who brings an amazing level of clarity and insight to her clients.
As my live events expanded to over 40 schools, we found ourselves in dire need of another ace interview trainer to lead our Crack the Case Workshops. Enter Rikin Vasani, an incredibly talented and versatile trainer and coach. He read Crack the Case back when he was an undergrad at Berkeley Haas, and went on to land offers at Bain, McKinsey, BCG, and Goldman Sachs. Rikin’s portfolio of clients has grown by leaps and bounds since joining us in 2013.
We would not have the global reach we have today without a secret weapon: Carole Driscoll, our office manager extraordinaire. She came to work with us “part-time” (haha!), bringing 25 years of office management and customer service experience with her. Carole runs a tight ship while juggling event logistics, contracts, billing and client relations.
Our newest team member has the tall task of keeping my schedule on track and taking care of our coaching clients. Diadra Miller has over 20 years of customer service experience, and a boundless energy that benefits our clients and team every day.
